Paper 1 vs Paper 2: What Each One Actually Tests
Leaving Cert Maths is split into two 2.5-hour papers, sat at Higher, Ordinary or Foundation level. Paper 1 focuses on numerical and algebraic skills, covering Algebra, Complex Numbers, Calculus and Functions. Paper 2 focuses on applied maths, covering Statistics and Probability, and Geometry and Trigonometry. A H6 or higher at Higher Level is worth 25 bonus CAO points, making it one of the most valuable subjects to get right.
