I was born and grew up in Kars which is the coldest city of Turkey. I completed my primary and elementary education there. In 2002, I graduated from Middle East Technical University (METU) in Ankara and in 2007, I completed my Master’s degree at the Social Science Institute at Hacettepe University. My thesis examined critical thinking in Physics. And it was also published as a scientific essay in Hacettepe University Journal of Education in 2009. Once I discovered the meaning of Physics, I realized that I wanted to show each and every student I taught why we must care about Physics. I am a Physics teacher who cares passionately about my role. I believe that “Physics tells us how the universe exists and how things work so we cannot ignore it.” When I enter the class, I forget all my problems in my life. In other words, Physics class is a simple and easy therapy for me. And to be honest, it is too cheap for a therapy. When I was 15th teaching of my career, I had found two more therapies; writing some Physics questions and grading exam papers. These led to two different ways for me. Firstly, by 2019, I had written four Physics books; two them in Turkish and two of them in English. Now, I have been trying to catch my 5th Physics book until the next semester has come. When I was started to work as an IB DP Physics Examiner in 2017, I was so excited to mark exam papers or internal assessment project of the students who were from the different places of the world. I learned many things. I saw many different and extended project. This worked for me a lot. Why am I trying to new thing? I ask this question many times to myself. Actually, the basic reason is related to again Physics. When I spend time with something I particularly like about physics, I don't understand how time flies. sometimes I find myself evaluating grades on a piece of paper for hours or trying to correct an original question I just wrote. It takes me away from all the worries in my life. My family, my students and physics are the summary of my life. And of course, I must not forget my clarinet. Standing waves come to my mind every time I try to play. I started teaching in 2002 and continues to teach today. When I am not indulging in my passion for Physics, I spend my spare time enjoying life with my son, Ege. He is the best and most beautiful and the purest thing that I have ever seen before.
