At the U of A I spent my time researching the Taubman Approach to piano playing, and using repertoire to improve one's skills as an improviser and composer. In my program I played Kinderszenen, Beethoven's F# major sonata, various chamber pieces, and lots of Bach. My final recital program included the entirety of Bartók's "Mikrokosmos" book 6, Preludes 1-4 of Bach's WTC Book 1, and my own composition/improvisation "Handbook". During my degree I also served as TA for music theory for three years.
