Bachelor of Arts in Geography and Rural Development
Sep 2010 - Sep 2014
I gained a substantial foundation in Geography during my undergraduate degree, which I have since expanded upon to the PhD level. Throughout my studies, I explored various aspects of Geography, including Human Geography, Physical Geography, Cartography, Environmental Geography, and Political and Economic Geography. After completing my Bachelor's degree with honours, I was selected as one of the few students to serve as a Teaching and Research Assistant in the Geography Department at KNUST. I held this position for one year before receiving a Commonwealth Scholarship to pursue my master’s degree at Aberystwyth Univesity in the United Kingdom.

Biotechnology
Oct 2020 - Oct 2024
My biotechnology degree has truly shaped me as a teacher, transforming how I approach each lesson and interact with my students. Lab work was one of my favorite parts of my degree, so I’ve made hands-on learning a big part of my teaching. I love watching students get their hands dirty in experiments, realizing that science is something they can do, not just memorize. It's the practical, messy side of biology that often excites them the most, and it lets them explore their natural curiosity in a safe and structured way. Having worked on projects in healthcare and bioethics, I’ve come to value the importance of teaching students to think critically. In my classroom, we go beyond just facts—we discuss the “why” and the “how,” and I encourage them to ask tough questions. I want them to leave each lesson with more than knowledge; I want them to have the confidence to think like scientists and approach problems with an open mind. Finally, my degree has given me so many ways to show students how science connects to their lives. When we cover topics like genetics or environmental science, I share real-world applications and current events. I want them to see that what we’re learning in class matters—that it’s connected to the world outside, from the medicine they take to the ethical questions shaping our future.
