In Grade 2 of Rockschool's Electric Guitar program, I advanced my technical skills by learning more complex chord shapes, including 7th chords, barre chords, and open position chords. I also worked on refining my finger strength and dexterity through more challenging exercises and scales, such as the pentatonic scale and major scale. Rhythm guitar techniques became more refined with an emphasis on different strumming patterns and syncopation, and I started exploring basic lead guitar techniques, including simple bends and slides. In addition, I expanded my knowledge of music theory, learning about key signatures, intervals, and the construction of major and minor scales. The Grade 2 curriculum further developed my ability to play in time and express musical ideas more creatively, setting a strong foundation for more advanced skills and genres.
